VCDL Academy Legal Internship

Practical Politics Program

Legal Internship

The VCDL Academy Legal Internship is a research project built around the New York Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen Supreme Court decision.  It is open to law students interested in learning the history of firearms laws in the United States.  Interns will be compiling a database of laws in order to create an accurate understanding of how our Founders understood our relationship with firearms.

Participation in this program will be mostly virtual and will be overseen by our VCDL attorneys.  There may also be opportunities to accompany our attorneys in court on various firearm-related cases.  Segments will run in 10-week intervals, with an expectation of 10 hours of research per week.  There is potential for course credits with this program.
