2023 Raffle Rules

Raffle open to those who are (1) at least 18 years of age at the time of purchase and (2) eligible to purchase a firearm in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, VCDL officers, board members, employees, and any immediate family members thereof, are expressly prohibited from entering the raffle.

There will be 1,500 raffle tickets available for purchase for the price of $50.00 per ticket.  Tickets must be purchased with cash or debit; tickets may not be purchased by credit card.  There is no restriction as to the number of tickets an individual may purchase.  Ticket sales will begin on August 17, 2023, or upon VCDL's receipt of its charitable gaming permit, whichever occurs later. Ticket sales will close at 8:00 p.m. on November 16, 2023.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

1^st place, Zastava M93 Black Arrow 50 BMG caliber rifle, MSRP $8,999.99
2^nd Place, Smith & Wesson M&P15 Pre-Owned AR Pistol, New MSRP $916.00, Approx. Value $750.00*
3^rd Place, Springfield Armory Echelon 9mm Pistol, MSRP $679.00*
4^th Place, Henry Golden Boy .22 Lever Rifle, MSRP $636.00
5^th Place, Henry US Survival Pack with AR-7 Rifle and Gear, MSRP $625.00

*If the winner of the 2^nd Place Prize or 3^rd Place Prize is under 21 years of age, a long gun of equal or greater value will be substituted or the firearm will be converted to a rifle, at VCDL's discretion.

The raffle drawing will take place at XCal Shooting Sports and Fitness, 44950 Russell Branch Pkwy, Ashburn, VA 20147 on November 16, 2023, at 8:30 p.m.  The order of the drawing will be as follows:

The 1^st place winner will be drawn first, but not announced until the remaining four drawings have been conducted and the winners identified.  Then the 5^th place drawing will take place and the winner announced, followed by the 4^th place, 3^rd place, and 2^nd place.  Immediately thereafter, VCDL will announce the 1^st Place winner 

The winner need not be present to win.  Winners will be notified by the phone numbers(s) and email(s) listed on the ticket stub.  Winning ticket numbers will also be posted on VCDLs website.  The winner must present proof of purchase by showing the raffle ticket bearing his or her name when claiming their prize.  Prizes must be claimed by December 31, 2023.  Unclaimed prizes will revert back to VCDL to be used in subsequent raffles.

No substitutions for prizes will be allowed outside of those provided for here.

Winners are responsible for any firearm transfer fees, background check fees and applicable taxes.  If the winner is present at the drawing, XCal will charge a $25.00 transfer fee to affect the transfer.  If the winner is not present, the prize may be picked up at Gadsden Guns at 19392 Beaver Dam Rd, Beaverdam, VA.  Gadsden Guns will not charge a transfer fee.  If neither of these are possible, the firearm will be shipped to an FFL of the winner’s choosing.  

VCDL Academy is the Youth Outreach Program of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit educational organization.  Raffle tickets purchases, memberships, and contributions to VCDL or VCDL Academy are not deductible on your personal income tax.  Sponsorships may be deductible to businesses as an advertising expense.  Consult your tax professional for advice.  Thank you for your support.
